Also, in the centre of Niš there is the Fortress from the Turkish time, which is a symbol of the city. The memorial complex on Bubanj Hill, camp "Crveni krst" (Red cross) and many other monuments from the near past are important cultural-historical monuments of Niš, too. The Niška Banja - Spa, near Niš, is well known by the possibilities for the treatment of heart and vascular diseases. Niš is the second university centre in Serbia. The Faculty of Electronic Engineering, the main organizer of the Conference and your host during the Conference, is one of the most perspective university institutions in the country.

The Faculty of Electronic Engineering is located near to the Fortress, within the walking distance from the city centre. It offers undergraduate studies leading to the professional title of graduate electrical engineer. There are following educational profiles: automatic control, electronics, telecommunications, computer science and informatics, microelectronics and electrical power engineering. Besides, the post-graduate studies in eleven basic fields and Ph.D. studies are organized. In addition, there have been lots of scientific-research and developing projects supported by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia and the industry.

The Branch of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts in Niš was founded on 16th September 2016, and is located just in city centre - in the University of Niš building.
